A donation of $400 for one year provides a child with a required school uniform, shoes, school supplies, access to medical and dental care, psychology, tutoring, and pastoral counseling by our staff, and a monthly stipend to help the child and the family. The Educational Development Program provides 235 high school students, 4 auxiliary nurse students, 2 college students and 6 elementary students with scholarships to attend school. Most of these children could not attend school otherwise. Students are chosen based on their economic situation, the academic initiative and the willingness of parents to actively participate in the child’s education. Scholarship students and their parents submit receipts for purchases, report grades at the end of each semester, and attend monthly meetings featuring speakers and special activities designed to strengthen the students’ and parents’ dedication to education.
