Eye Care Services delivered to remote areas
Predisan continues to impact a wide service area beyond the city of Catacamas. Last week eye examinations, diagnostics and eye glass distribution were performed to serve many communities. The Good Samaritan Medical Center and Rural Satellite Center, CEDECO, both hosted Dr. Mark Kapperman’s volunteer crew to serve a large number of patients. Their journey included trips to remote clinics in the areas of Wasparani and CulmÃ.
435 Patients received free, high-quality care in those communities including evaluation and graduated lenses.
Dr. Kapperman continues to work with Predisan medical staff to grow the vision for next steps in eye care from the Good Samaritan Health Center. The plans include evaluation available as a standard service in the medical center and equipment to produce the lenses needed on site. The work together sharing talents and resources is just beginning.
