EVANGELISM TRIPS: Q & A
Evangelism group trips are a vital part of Predisan’s outreach to the people of Honduras and are key to "Proclaiming Jesus, Healing Lives."
WE WELCOME EVANGELISTIC GROUPS
We welcome evangelistic groups who participate in activities like the ones list below, or in other outreach and spiritual formation projects. Please let us know of your interests.
- Direct evangelism activities such as home visitation and evangelistic services.
- Sports ministry programs which partner young people in Honduras with young athletes from the United States who share sports expertise and their faith. Upper right, A member of an FCA sports ministry group with children in a soccer camp.
- Puppet shows and other activities which teach the Bible and biblical principles to children. Center right, A Tennessee evangelism brigade presents a puppet show with a soundtrack in Spanish of Bible stories and Christian messages.
- Seminars and educational programs such as Bible and spiritual formation classes and marriage and family programs. Lower right, Ruby Jean Smith, Chattanooga, Tenn., counselor and volunteer, provides spiritual counseling and counsel about addiction treatment care to the staff at CEREPA.
Key Questions:
- Who can bring a group to Predisan?
We welcome groups and would like to talk to you about trip possibilities. For churches, we approach our work together with you as a rich partnership benefiting your congregation, Predisan and the people of Honduras. Often churches that send groups also support our work financially.
- How can my evangelism group help? Predisan works to shine light into dark
corners, and many methods and strategies are incorporated by groups to share and nurture spiritual growth. The use of puppet shows, dramas, praise teams and spiritual growth seminars all contribute to the impact of Predisan's work. Sports ministry events bring U.S. athletes who inspire, mentor and witness to young people in Honduras. Spiritual outreach activities are often integrated into a group's work in the mountain communities and with Predisan's patients. Some opportunities exist to work at CEREPA, Predisan's addiction treatment center. Please talk to us about your interests as your group’s abilities and passions will be paired with existing needs. The ways to serve are plentiful. Some members of a group may do one thing, and others another.
- How long in advance should I schedule my group?
Ideally groups are scheduled 6 to 12 months in advance. Some groups schedule for the next year when they complete their current trip.

- What does it cost and what preparation does a group need?
It is vital that each group meet periodically before a trip to review and discuss the material in the Service Group Handbook. Please note all the forms required and deadlines in the handbook. We recommend having at least three preparatory meetings before your trip, and a final Bon Voyage dinner or picnic to review all the plans.
- Where will our group stay?
Most groups working in the mountains stay at CEDECO, our mountain center, which is like a rustic church camp with latrines and cold showers. It’s fun, and the stars at night are amazing. CEDECO has a staff and cooks, so you’ll be in good hands. Coming and going you may stay one or more nights in a hotel in Catacamas or in Tegucigalpa, the capital city. The Predisan staff will work out those details with you. Groups working in Catacamas will stay in a hotel there and eat in the hotel restaurant or other local restaurants. The hotels range from adequate to very nice. The food is delicious.
